Shalini P. Sawkar is an Indian author of crime thrillers and romantic comedies namely: Confessions Of An IT Employee, When I Find You, and The Murder Of Jay Shekhar. Her other short stories include The Code Of Conduct In Her Shoes published in Born Too Soon anthology and The Witch of Strawhorn published in an international magazine in Atlanta, USA – Fantasia Divinity Magazine, Issue 11. She is also a Columnist with The Post India and SheThePeople.tv where she writes articles about creativity, lifestyle, travel, and marketing. She is also a speaker at TED Circles Kolkata 2020. 

She was awarded the Coimbatore Literary Awards 20’20 – Most Promising in General Fiction for her novel, Confessions Of An IT Employee. She was also awarded as one of the Top 100 Debut Authors of India for The Murder Of Jay Shekhar. She has also been awarded the Global Women Inspiration Awards 2021 for her literary contributions and NationWide Awards 2021 Top 30 Under 30 by Business Mint in the Author Category. She is also a Finalist in the Sharing Stories Book Awards 2021 for Confessions Of An IT Employee in the Romance category, and a Finalist in Karnataka Women Achiever’s Awards 20’20. 

She was interviewed on UK’s International Radio Station – Chat and Spin Radio, as well as on the American podcast – Inside The Minds Of Authors with DC Gomez. She has been covered by various newspapers like The Hans India, 24X7 City News India, YourStory Media, Eat My News, and DailyHunt. Former Software Engineer, globetrotter, and an avid reader, she has visited more than 11 countries. She has also worked with the celebrated filmmaker Mr. Saad Khan at FirstAction Studios.

She writes realistic fiction and her books are the reflections of the society we live in, which interweave themes such as crimes of passion, infidelity, career choices, modern-day relationships, overcoming depression, and falling prey to peer pressure. Her protagonists are commoners with a tinge of naivety, quiet confidence, and unstoppable determination. She has conducted various creative writing workshops such as Writing Skills Workshop for students of NPS and served as the creative writing judge for the literary society of BMSCE for their cultural fest, Utsav 2019, and creative writing mentor on Coursera platform for Writing for Young Readers: Opening the Treasure Chest.

She hopes to inspire youngsters to embrace their uniqueness through her books.
