Sanjana An engineering graduate with a diploma in design thinking, Sanjana is a fiercely driven SDR.
Rejecting her first job offer as a front-end engineer, she chose to pursue a career that she had her heart set on. 
Why is she so Gung-ho about sales?
Someone once told her, "It's best to enter the industry with sales, to understand its dynamics. This way, you understand from ground zero". And she vouches for it because the last couple of years have been a truly rewarding and enlightening experience. 

Starting off as a sales intern at Mad street den tech, one of the hottest SaaS companies in Chennai, her role was cross-functional and helped her experiment with a mixture of activities from market research and demand generation to business development. 
Finally, she discovered that outbound sales are what she loved best and also saw tremendous success. 
"The only way to do great work is to do what you love.", she says, quoting Steve Jobs.

Her keen interest in innovation and design thinking led her to learn the subject on her own, taking up several courses from universities across the globe. She tries to infuse her design thinking and creative problem-solving skills into sales, to provide customers a more personalized and wholesome experience. 

She emphasizes that it is crucial to establish a genuine connection with prospects and engaging them throughout the sales process. 
What's worked best for her is relationship-based selling, because being an extrovert by nature, she tries to get to know the person she's selling to, without just seeing them as a prospective buyer. Breaking the ice, establishing trust, building a lasting rapport is vital because a great salesperson sells oneself and not just the product. 

To drive herself, she keeps her own targets, usually a notch higher than required, with lots of passion and possessiveness. Sanjana believes that the absence of these is a futile attempt at achieving anything, so she goes all out to achieve that.
