A Business and Operations Analytics certified professional with over 12 years’ experience in the Medical Devices industry, Mrinal Mathur has donned many hats through the course of his career. Starting as a front-line sales executive, he moved up the ladder to a managerial role in sales before entering marketing. The formative years spent in sales laid a strong foundation for him to build product strategies that are relevant in today’s VUCA world.
A Delhi boy through & through, he did his schooling from Ramjas School and completed his engineering from GGS IP university in Electronics & Communication. Born in a joint family, he was immersed in traditional values of humility and respect from the start.
Known for his tenacity and dependable work ethic, Mrinal has an enthusiastic, multifaceted personality and loves interacting with people, as evident from his line of work. Sharing why he chose healthcare, Mrinal says that taking up a project on “Medical Imaging” in senior school drove him to choose the subjects for his Bachelor’s, and eventually the industry he wanted to be in. He started with Bausch & Lomb, dealing with Ophthalmic products, and then moved on to Stryker in their Orthopaedics division. During his time there, he launched the first robot for joint replacement surgery along with other capital equipment. He not only helped retain the leadership position in the segment but also increased the market share with innovative solutions for customer acquisition.
Mrinal is currently leading the marketing for ENT & Airway products at one of the biggest endoscopy companies – KARL STORZ. With strong results driven by market-relevant strategies & data analysis, Mrinal was awarded the “Best Marketer of the Year” twice in a row – 2018 & 2019.
Outside work, Mrinal is a food enthusiast who not only loves to try new cuisines but also enjoys recreating them at home for his family. According to him, it’s the best “stress-buster”.
