Dr. Gaurav grew up in a village in Bihar where electricity and newspaper were a weekly luxury. He finished his MBBS from RGUHS, Bangalore, in 2010. Post his MBBS, he took a different route to be a part of an IT startup and be a business analyst for their healthcare division. After doing that successfully for 6 years, he scored all India rank 31 in the postgraduate entrance exam. It was a hard choice between setting up a healthcare startup aiming to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to rural Bihar versus the best seat in one of the best medical colleges. The startup thought had to win for a person like Gaurav who always chose a path less traveled. He is currently running a startup and a non-profit providing employment to 60 young tribals, provides affordable treatment to 20000 patients per year, currently treating 110 mental health patients for free, and is saving lives every day with 24 by 7 service in one of the toughest parts of Bihar. The resolve to reach the unreached has never been stronger.
