Our story -

India is a land of textiles, varied techniques of handcrafting beauties and indigenous talents. To keep all of it alive in this fast paced world, Pilitaxi has pledged to make slow and sustainable living a mandate for the people of today. 

Pilitaxi derives its name from the iconic yellow taxis of Kolkata, the city from which it started its journey back in 2021. After the completion of two years, Pilitaxi has already imprinted its footprints in cities like Bangalore and Bombay as well, while it aims to cover more in the new year. 

Pili Taxi is a popup exhibition of homegrown brands that is spread across our country. It's an initiative that enables the marriage of Indian craftsmanship, local artisans and designers under one roof. Pili Taxi is a platform for artisanal-based brands that help us to stay connected with our roots & culture.

With time, the events of Pilitaxi have evolved from being a shopping platform to a celebration of culture and traditions in the respective city. It ensures that the mindful shoppers find uniqueness in their products. They provide a global platform for all the brands while ensuring that each brand’s story reaches the world, along with their products.

 

Journey -

The initiative started in 2020. Due to Covid initially, it took place in 2021 with 20+ women entrepreneurs to create a marketplace for them to showcase work. Pilitaxi now stands strong after completion of 10th successful edition with more than 150+ brands in Kolkata, Bangalore, and Mumbai. The Pilitaxi community is more than 12K+ audiences strong across India . Next they are planning to touch Hyderabad and Delhi. Their future goal is to expand the concept to offline stores in different cities. They are currently working on a website where they can showcase their brands online and reach out to a larger audience.

From beautifully crafted apparel, textiles, handmade jewellery, footwear, accessories to home decor, toy, art, sculpture chemical-free skincare product and much more, you will witness some of the most aesthetically and thoughtfully made products from across the states. They bring into artisanal based brands who directly work with weavers and craftspeople . Their Gourmet brands of  bakery, drinks and food have garnered love from across the nation. All the participating brands of Pilitaxi promote slow living and they are all environment friendly.
