With 16 years of enriching hospitality experience across multiple hotel companies & varied roles at ITC Limited, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Indian Hotels Company Limited, and Marriott International, Abhishek is a recognized individual within the industry.

After concluding graduation from IHM Chandigarh, Abhishek started his career as a Management Trainee at ITC Hotels Division and was associated with ITC Hotels in Bangalore in mid-management roles in Rooms Division. Subsequently, he proceeded to pursue MBA in Hospitality Administration from the renowned École hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland in 2011.

Consequently, he took charge of international fundraising for IHIF (Indian Head Injury Foundation) as the Head of Marketing & Business Development by conceptualizing and executing special projects both in India and globally. Abhishek made his return to hotels as a Front Office Manager at Taj Bekal Resort & Spa in Kerala in 2013 and was elevated to the role of an Operations Manager at the iconic Taj Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai, before joining the Marriott Family.

Armed with an extensive understanding and knowledge of managerial experience in operations, guest relations, and revenue optimization, Abhishek led the successful opening of Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata in December 2019. After a stellar start, the property is now focussing on long-term positioning via a diverse strategy that includes initiatives to boost market profile, align cost heads, staff engagement, and overall management of the hotel to secure its leadership position. The hotel is due to launch state-of-the-art convention facilities in the current year and Abhishek and his team are poised to achieve new heights in the months ahead with this much-anticipated addition to the portfolio.

An avid trekker, Abhishek also enjoys equestrianism, playing lawn tennis, and experimenting with traditional pasta recipes in his personal time.
